Susan Pollack

LCSW

With warmth, authenticity, and humor, Susan Pollack builds strong therapeutic relationships that foster healing and growth. She believes that the foundation of meaningful change lies in a collaborative approach, where clients feel genuinely seen and supported. By connecting on a personal, human level, she creates a space where clients can explore their challenges with confidence and compassion.

A graduate of Boston University with an MSW, Susan is licensed in Massachusetts and California. Her early career in Massachusetts focused on working with teenagers facing mental health and substance use challenges. Using motivational interviewing and deep empathy, she built trust with this complex and dynamic population.

In 2010, she moved to California with her family and dedicated several years to volunteering in public schools and nonprofit fundraising, making a meaningful impact on her children’s education and the broader school community. Once licensed in California, she took on the role of an elementary school counselor, helping students navigate anxiety, depression, peer relationships, emotional regulation, grief and loss, ADHD/ADD, and family transitions. With specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, she understands the importance of collaboration between a child’s various support systems to ensure overall well-being.

Beyond her work with children and families, Susan is passionate about supporting adults through life’s transitions—whether it’s managing anxiety, addressing family of origin challenges, or navigating the complexities of parenting. Drawing from her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she helps clients build self-compassion, identify personal strengths, and align with their values to foster resilience.

Her eclectic therapeutic approach incorporates attachment-based work, family therapy, relational therapy, psychoeducation, CBT, and mindfulness. Through this integrated perspective, she guides clients toward greater awareness and new coping strategies that support lasting change.

Outside of her professional life, Susan enjoys hiking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her husband and three young adult sons.
