• Is your child or teen questioning their gender identity or sexual orientation?
  • Are you looking for a therapist who truly gets your experience?
  • Do you or your child feel you have to live separate lives in order to gain acceptance for who you really are?

LGBTQI youth are living in a transformational world. While there is more acceptance than ever before, there continues to be discrimination and a lack of support of the LGBTQI community. As a tween or teen who is already dealing with the struggles of adolescence, this can be one additional piece of the puzzle for them to figure out. As an adult, you may be grappling with years of hiding who you truly are.

The process of coming out to family, friends, and one’s community can be full of many emotions. An individual may feel relief that their true selves are now revealed. They may feel scared of how others will respond and what their experience will be like moving forward. They may feel excited to embrace a new phase of their life. Whatever emotions you may be experiencing, we can provide a safe environment for you to be yourself.

Your therapist will seek to work with you or your child from a place of compassion and validation by really hearing your personal experience and providing guidance on what is most important to you. Wellspring’s therapists work from an affirming direction and embrace individuals for who they are. Our goal is to support you with where you are in your own process whether your gender identity or sexuality are the main focus of your therapeutic work or whether it is simply a piece of what you’re hoping to address.

Our therapists provide counseling to LGBTQI children, teens, and adults and our Intake Coordinators can help identify a therapist that best meets your needs.
