Rebecca, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, approaches her therapeutic work with curiosity and compassion. She believes therapy is a space for self-exploration and aims to foster an environment where clients can openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Her style is interactive, supportive, and non-judgmental, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness.
At Wellspring, she works with young adults and fellow twenty-somethings navigating life transitions, relationships, and identity development. Clients in pre-college, college, and post-education stages benefit from her support as they adjust to new responsibilities, make meaningful decisions about their futures, and build stronger senses of self. She also works with kids and teens facing anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional regulation challenges, OCD, divorce/parental separation, and social relationships. Creating a supportive space for clients to process their experiences, build confidence, and move forward with clarity and self-compassion is at the core of her approach.
Rebecca earned her B.S. in Health Sciences and B.A. in Psychology from Chapman University, followed by an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a Concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. Her undergraduate studies sparked a deep fascination with the connection between physical and psychological well-being. During graduate school, she completed a traineeship at Berkeley City College, where she provided individual therapy to college students navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, gender identity and sexual orientation exploration, relationship challenges, and academic stress.
Believing that our relationship with ourselves profoundly impacts our connections with others, she views therapy as a tool for gaining insight into who we are. By understanding our experiences, behavior patterns, and external influences, we can foster deeper connections with both ourselves and the world around us.
Beyond her clinical work, Rebecca has an extensive background in competitive gymnastics and coaching kids of all ages. This experience instilled in her an appreciation for the power of positive self-talk, visualization, and grounding exercises, techniques she integrates into her therapeutic practice.
In her free time, she enjoys singing, crafting, and practicing handstands.
