Lacy Zehner

AMFT #161700

Lacy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University of California in San Rafael and a Master’s in Elementary Education (K–12) from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.

Her approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and relational. She views therapy as a space for honest exploration, meaningful connection and growth, and a place where clients can show up as their authentic selves. Lacy places strong value on the therapeutic relationship and believes that building a foundation of trust and safety with her clients is essential for deep and effective work.

Lacy is particularly passionate about working with children, teens, young adults, and adults navigating academic challenges, interpersonal relationships, identity exploration, trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and the transitions of pre- and postpartum motherhood.

As both a mother and a former teacher in the Bay Area for 15 years, she brings extensive experience working with children and families. This background strengthens her ability to support her clients across developmental stages, helping them build regulation and coping skills while fostering long-term emotional well-being. Lacy collaborates closely with parents and caregivers to extend the work beyond sessions and support each child’s goals at home.

Lacy is an attachment and trauma-informed therapist who integrates a range of modalities, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Control Mastery Theory (CMT). Outside of Wellspring, Lacy enjoys gardening, hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
