Meredith Simpson

Clinical Director, LMFT #52838

As the Clinical Director of Wellspring Psychotherapy Center, Meredith leads a dedicated team of clinicians and staff while ensuring high-quality mental health services and overseeing the center’s operations. With nearly 20 years of experience in schools and private practice, Meredith specializes in helping children and adolescents overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and behavioral concerns.

Meredith believes every child has unique strengths and deserves an individualized approach to therapy. She combines evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral interventions, and Play Therapy techniques, to help children build emotional resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and strengthen family relationships. Her warm, collaborative style emphasizes partnering with parents, recognizing they are essential to a child’s success.

Meredith is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based parent coaching program for children ages 2 to 8. While helping parents strengthen their parent-child relationships through positive and consistent interactions, Meredith guides parents in reducing tantrums, defiance, aggression, impulsivity and other challenging childhood behaviors.

She is also trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), an evidence-based parent-focused treatment for childhood anxiety. Using the SPACE protocol, Meredith supports parents with learning practical strategies to help their child overcome anxiety, even if their child is reluctant to participate in therapy.

Before becoming a therapist, Meredith worked as an elementary school teacher, giving her valuable insight into children’s academic, social, and emotional development. Meredith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, a Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University of California.  As both a therapist and a mother, Meredith understands the rewards and challenges of raising children.  Outside the office, Meredith enjoys early morning walks with her three dogs, Lady, Bear, and Truck, as well as swimming, spending time with friends, and soaking up the sunshine.
