AMFT

Nicole Goldberg, AMFT, is known for her warm and inviting presence and her ability to foster strong therapeutic relationships. Nicole received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, where she also minored in Human Development and Art History. Her passion for psychology and supporting others led her to receive her Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy from Alliant International University in Los Angeles. During her graduate program internship, Nicole spent time supporting individuals in South Central LA, including elementary-aged students and residents of a domestic violence shelter. She has served clients struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges.

Nicole is particularly skilled in helping children and teens with anxiety, depression, perfectionist tendencies, ADHD, Autism, behavioral and social challenges, and transitions. She also has experience supporting young adults who struggle with self-esteem, societal pressures, uncertainty, and decision-making.

Nicole’s superpower is creating safe and non-judgmental spaces for clients to tell their stories. Through the use of collaboration and attentive listening, Nicole ensures that clients’ voices are heard and supported. Prior to becoming a therapist, Nicole focused on supporting children and adolescents through her work in school-based systems and as a sleep-away camp counselor, where she built lasting bonds with students and campers. It became Nicole’s mission to empower children, adolescents, and young adults to find their voice.

Nicole’s therapeutic practice is grounded in Narrative Family Therapy and Psychodynamic Theory. She strives to help clients gain a deeper understanding of their narratives, values, and the systems that shape them. Nicole supports her young clients’ work through difficult emotions in a safe and creative environment. When working with children, she engages her clients through play and art therapy. As a family systems therapist, Nicole is passionate about supporting clients, along with their parents or caregivers, to further support the client’s goals at home.

Through her work with young adults, Nicole brings an empathetic approach and genuine curiosity to support clients as they navigate challenging life transitions. Nicole utilizes a systemic perspective to untangle the ways in which society, culture, and values impact one’s identity and various pressures. Together, Nicole and her clients will explore how clients can advocate for themselves to build lives that are meaningful to them

Outside of Wellspring, Nicole spends her time engaging in activities such as baking, running, and hanging out with friends and family. As a new resident of the Bay Area, Nicole looks forward to trying local hikes and discovering new restaurants, and immersing herself in everything the region has to offer.
