Gellaine (Jeh-lane) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and board-certified Art Therapist who centers her work on creativity and authentic connections with clients. Therapy with her is a dynamic, collaborative process that goes beyond talking. Using art therapy, play therapy, movement, and a strengths-based approach, she encourages clients to tap into their imagination and curiosity to explore struggles and concerns. Gellaine is training to become certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). This parent coaching model supports emotional regulation, tantrums, and power struggles while equipping parents with tools to promote cooperation and listening skills.

A deep appreciation for self-expression and art as a creative outlet has shaped her journey. Since high school, Gellaine has led breakdancing and street art workshops for young children, an experience that inspired her to pursue art as a mental health tool. She earned a B.A. in Art History and Studio Art from Humboldt State University before completing her Master’s in Art Therapy from New York University.

Passionate and energetic, she specializes in working with children and families navigating anxiety, ADHD, sensory and emotional regulation issues, life transitions, and trauma healing. She is especially enthusiastic about helping parents through the challenges of potty training, collaborating with them to get unstuck and revitalize the process for the whole family. Additionally, she is dedicated to BIPOC advocacy in mental health, facilitating socialization groups for young children, and advancing art and creative expression as essential components of healing.

Outside of work, she enjoys cozy, reflective moments, art, creative movement, cuddling dogs, and quality time with family.
